Doug Nikhazy's first Double-A start for the RubberDucks was memorable for all the wrong reasons Saturday in Altoona.
Nikhazy lasted just 1⅔ innings, surrendering all seven runs in the Ducks' lopsided loss to the Curve. Nick Gonzalez started the barrage with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning.
The Ducks bullpen, though, shut down the Curve, with Robert Broom pitching 4⅓ scoreless innings with three strikeouts and Luis Oviedo tossing two scoreless innings while striking out two.
The Ducks' lone run came in the fifth inning when Chris Roller lifted a sacrifice fly to center to bring home Daniel Schneemann.
