Ben Popp, executive director of the American Birkibeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF), gave the Director’s Report during the annual meeting of the organization. The annual meeting was held Saturday afternoon, Aug. 13, at the Samuel C. Johnson Family Outdoor Center at the Highway OO Trailhead on the Birkie Trail.

These are renderings and drawings of the proposed Base Camp, a new 10,000-square-foot facility on the ground of the former Telemark Lodge where the Coliseum had been located. Base Camp will be three times the size of the Samuel C. Johnson Family Outdoor Center located at the Highway OO Trailhead on the Birkie Trail. The proposed facility will be leased out to three vendors, including a brew pub, coffee shop and bike/ski shop. The goal is to break ground on the new facility in 2023.
