> Some of golf's best amateurs, representing 47 colleges and universities, will be in town for the 10th annual Chattanooga Choo Choo Invitational this week at Council Fire. Media director Becky Blaesing says the tournament is "very fan-friendly — if you've got youngsters interested in the game of golf, this is the event to bring them to." At least 13 players in the field of 100 have qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship, she said. The Top 4 participants are John Daly Jr. of the University of Arkansas, Tyler Johnson and Jake Hall of the University of Tennessee and Jackson Buchanan of the University of Illinois, all of whom are ranked among the Top 300 amateur golfers worldwide. Tee time is 7:30 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. Spectator admission is free. Livestreams will start at 1 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and ESPN radio in Chattanooga, 95.3, also will provide coverage.
